A not-for-profit, social enterprise gallery

SPACE

What is

SPACE?

SPACE is a not-for-profit social enterprise art gallery and creative space in Coonabarabran NSW. SPACE was conceived and executed by Creatives Collective ARI inc. a local disability-led disabled artists’ group who believe in making opportunities, not waiting for them.
We are now a major tourist drawcard for Coonabarabran – and a must-see destination for interstate travelers.
SPACE is designed to work on the local problems of minimal local public access to arts and culture,  few training and work experience opportunities for disabled and disadvantaged people, more reasons for visitors to stop with an impending bypass in the near future, long-term drought, and  a stressed local economy.

Who can use

SPACE?

SPACE is available to all members of the community in keeping with its mission to enrich the arts and culture of Coonabarabran and its local area.
All genres of arts and crafts can be exhibited, placed on commission for sale.
Priority is given to disabled and disadvantaged artists on the very rare occasion there’s a conflict for space or time.

What days and times can i go into

SPACE?

SPACE is run by volunteers and as such we are not always open when we want to be.
We are open from 7am – 12 noon while inhouse coffee takeaway Coffee & Me is open, and are often open outside of those hours as well, and occasionally not open on the weekends. If we aren’t open when you would like us to be, consider dropping in a volunteer application.

Thank you!

SPACE was refurbished and upgraded with funding provided by  2023 NSW Government Creative Capital Minor Works and Equipment grant. Creatives Collective ARI inc. is grateful for that support
